2 more arrested in UConn stabbing case

VERNON -- University of Connecticut police arrested two additional people Thursday in connection with the murder of UConn football player Jasper Howard, charging them with interfering with the investigation.

Rahim Muhammad, a 22-year-old Bloomfield man, was charged with two counts

of hindering prosecution in the first degree, interfering with an officer and tampering with evidence.

Muhammad appeared briefly in Rockville Superior Court on Friday. His bond was set at $100,000 and his case was continued to Jan. 8.

Hadiyah Vanover, a 22-year-old Windsor woman, was charged with interfering with an officer and tampering with a witness. During Vanover's appearance before Judge Terence Sullivan, her bond was set at $50,000 and her case continued to Jan. 8.
